After Tropical Cyclone PAM Category 5, Vanuatu shows Solidarity to Nepal post Earthquake magnitude 7.8

A group of friends, most of them Musicians and Volunteers called them selves as “Friends of Nepal” organized a fundraising to rebuild a School Nepal.

The Fundraising happened at the Alliance Francaise in Port Vila on the 29 of May 2015.

This happened after the biggest a over 2 months after the biggest registered Tropical Cyclone of in the Pacific: TC PAM Cat 5 that killed 13 People in Vanuatu.

In Nepal, a severe earthquake that struck near the city of Kathmandu in central Nepal on April 25, 2015. About 9,000 people were killed, many thousands more were injured, and more than 600,000 structures in Kathmandu and other nearby towns were either damaged or destroyed.

Although in more than 10.000 km apart, Port Vila was able to raise about 200.000 vatu by selling food, cooked with love by expatriate community from 23 countries representing all continents of the World. More that 50 musicians volunteer to entertain more that 600 People who participate in the event.

A professional photographer who came to Vanuatu to report on the destruction of TC PAM just happens to come from Kathmandu, the Capital of Nepal and shared his professionals photos of the destruction and gave a small talk on his experiences of documented one of the biggest earthquake in the area.
