The Erakor Bridge won a new sea star: The Bridge Revolution Youth Group Association
The new Youth Association made significant contributions to the work previously being developed by the Erakor Bridge Community on the protection of the Erakor Lagoons and the environment that surrounds it. In the last six months, the new youth association has developed and implemented many impressive actions:
Improving the Lagoons and its environment
- Multiple cleanups of the Lagoon, Community and other communities such as the Takabe river
- Multiple activities related with mangrove plantations, including commemorate
- Tree planting at the Korman with the idea of building a Botanical Garden
Promoting education, awareness sports to its members and communities
- Participation and Completion of a Solid Waste Management course that will assist to understand the Erakor Community Waste Management challenges
- Promoted opportunities to their members to practice sports and wellbeing activities
Unite and strengthening the Community increasing its national and International visibility by maintaining a Facebook Page and a Website
Foster stronger relationships with authorities, chiefs, stakeholders and other communities
- Department of Environment at Solid Waste Management Summit
- Department of Urban Planning, Unelco in the tree plantation of a botanical garden proposed by Youth of Erakor Community
- National University of Vanuatu and AUF
